Miracles from Heaven (Movie Review)

Don't edit your prayers by Katie M. Reid

God doesn’t always answer our prayers in the way that we hope. My friend Mel just wrote a post about that.

Sometimes God works a miracle when we find ourselves backed into a corner facing our greatest fear. My friend Charity can attest to that.

Sometimes God does the unexpected to get our attention. You can read my story about that.

God still does miracles today. Do you believe that?

Last month Adam and I attended a pre-screening of the Miracles from Heaven movie starring Jennifer Garner and Queen Latifah. This movie made me cry, a lot—and I don’t think it’s just because I am great with child either.

Miracles from Heaven is based on the true story of the Beam family. The majority of the movie revolves around one of the Beam daughters, her complex health issues and how her family deals with it. Mrs. Beam (played by Garner) questions her faith as she watches her daughter suffer.

The acting and story-telling are well done. This movie will cue your tears and tug on your heartstrings.

The band Third Day performs in the film as well.

Miracles from Heaven opens tomorrow and we recommend that you go see it!

In honor of the movie’s release we are giving away a light blue, adult medium shirt from the pre-screening of Miracles from Heaven. One the front is Job 9:10, “He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.”

I appreciate this blog post. What an awesome story. I’d like to read the true story from the family who experienced, not saying I don’t believe it, but I think that would be good. 🙂 Thank you for sharing with us.

I’ve seen the trailer for this on Youtube, I think. So cool that you got to go to an early showing. Do you know someone involved in this movie? I’m interested in seeing this and also risen. Fun to see a movie review on here today! #RaRaLinkup

Hello Katie. I saw your link on Purposeful faith and was kind of scared to click because of any “spoiler” alerts:) I saw the preview of this movie when I took my mother to see “Risen”. By the way if you have not seen it, it is an incredible movie! My mother was crying tears of joy and I got chills several times throughout. I won’t say anything more but it is definitely worth seeing especially this time of year. Thanks for the positive review. We already had it on our must see list..I will tell someone to bring the tissues too. Thanks for sharing and may God richly bless you and yours!
