Speaking Topics (Retreats/Keynotes):

Living in Freedom as a Beloved Daughter
“Grace is a gift to be received not a prize to be earned.” For decades, Katie tried to earn (and keep) God’s favor with exemplary behavior, until a dusty living room revelation changed all that.Through personal testimony, Biblical truth, and memorable object lessons, Katie takes you on a journey from living with a “hired help mentality” to a “beloved daughter’s mentality.” Move from striving to settledness, and from panic to peace as you are freed to work and rest from a place of strength and freedom (based on Luke 10:38-42 and Luke 15:11-32).
Session 1: Two Sisters (Martha and Mary)
Session 2: The Heavy Backpack (Hired-Help Mentality)
Session 3: The Easy Yoke (Beloved Daughter’s Mentality)
Session 4: Walking Out What’s True of You (Prodigal Son and Older Brother)

The God Who Is and the God Who Will (Isaiah 41:10)

In a culture that is obsessed with self, comfort, and accomplishments, you will encounter the God who calls Himself “I AM,” the One who has come, who carries out His will, and Who will return again. Get to know the great I AM and then go and do whatever He tells you.
Session 1: I AM
Session 2: I Will
Session 3: Here I Am

God, What Do I Do?: Making Wise Decisions in Uncertain Times (Judges 1-5)

When things haven’t turned out like you thought they would, when you’re confused about your next steps, when indecision is keeping you up at night, when you feel overwhelmed by all the choices before you, when you’ve chosen poorly, or your hopes feel like they’ve been hurled over a cliff, this timely message will show you how to gain clarity in your “right now” life. Through timeless truths mined from Psalm 78 and Judges 1-2, you will discover three guiding principles that will help you make wise decisions in uncertain times.
Session 1: The Decision to Remember
Session 2: The Decision to Obey
Session 3: The Decision to Testify

Courageous Worship (Psalm 103)

Worship is what you were made to do, no matter what you’re going through. Discover how courageous worship fuels your faith, forms your character, and frees you to love and obey the Almighty God. In a time when many are making idols of relationships, possessions, and position, you’ll be inspired to respond to the reality of God’s presence, as you follow His lead and steward what He’s entrusted to you. He is worthy of it all!
Session 1: Worship is what you were made to do
Session 2: Worship changes you from the inside out
Session 3: Worship is a life laid down

Stand Alone Messages:
The Ladder Holding Leader

In a me-first, climb the ladder, hustle culture, it’s important to stay grounded in Truth. Discover how to maximize your influence by following the example of John the Baptist, who went lower for God’s glory. You too can be a ladder holding leader, helping others succeed, while having an even greater impact than solely climbing the ladder for yourself.

With examples of what not to do (from the Tower of Babel) and examples of what to do (through the example of the Acts 2 church), you will be encouraged and exhorted to link arms and serve shoulder to shoulder (as seen in the rebuilding of the wall in Nehemiah). This time is now for ladder-holding leaders to lead with the counter-cultural approach, like Christ and his early followers.

Feasting on God’s Word

It’s easy to feel intimidated when studying the Bible. In this session, you will learn some simple yet exciting methods to help you feast on God’s Word and communicate His truth with ease. Katie is a trained Bible Study Leader. She simplifies key elements of the inductive study method and creatively instructs you to savor God’s Word, one bite at a time. Learn how to discover truth for yourself as you utilize these practical tools in your time of study.

3 Powerful Words for Women

Discover how three tiny words can make a huge difference as you impact those around you for good. Through engaging stories and examples from the Bible, you will be empowered to use your words in ways that are life-giving, helpful, and sustainable, as you learn how to multiply your strength instead of divide it.

A Holy Interruption

Katie’s family experienced a holy interruption in the form of a partial house flood which resulted in them living in a hotel for 102 days. Zechariah and Mary, from the Bible, experienced a holy interruption that changed the trajectory of their lives and ours. Whether you have your whole life ahead of you, like Mary, or you’re in midlife, like me, or you’ve lived most of your life, like Zechariah, you can exchange a lack list for a lavish list even when life doesn’t look like you thought it would and you find yourself in a curveball season.

The Yes of Christmas

The holidays can be overwhelming and a source of pain. But what if saying yes to Christmas was the key that unlocked our joy? We don’t have to say yes to everything, but we are invited to say yes to the most important thing—Jesus, who said “yes” to Christmas and to us. The main character in Katie’s Christmas fiction book, Holly Noel, helps illustrate this point, since she learned to let go of unrealistic expectations and face the pain of the past in order to say yes to Christmas, with open hands.

Deep Breaths for the Christmas Season

The holidays can be a stressful time to navigate. With good-intentions we often over-work ourselves and over-stuff our calendar as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Using Martha from the Bible as a springboard, audiences will discover how to: Simplify their schedule, Exemplify God’s love, Delegate tasks, and Celebrate what’s already been done.

Topics for Parents:
Deborah's Influence

A closer look at Deborah, from Judges 4-5, will guide you in wisdom as you learn about Deborah’s approach to leadership, influence, and the godly characteristics she possessed as she mothered Israel. Moms, you have great influence with your children, whether you feel like you do or not, but may your greatest influence be your example of being influenced by God, as we see in Deborah’s life.

Real Talk for Moms of Tweens and Teens

Katie shares what has worked for her and what hasn’t when it comes to connecting with her kids. Through candid confessions, humorous and heartfelt examples, and practical tools, you will be empowered to parent with intention instead of guilt as you raise next generation with God’s help and wisdom.

Mighty In Battle (Psalm 24)

We are enlisted in a battle…raising the next generation up in the faith. We have been called and chosen to faithfully steward what and who we have been entrusted with. It is a noble endeavor and as you well know…we desperately need God’s help to do it.
