Restoration Project: Just Breathe

The Restoration Project 31 Day Series by Katie M Reid

Welcome to Day #4 of the Restoration Project.

On Sundays we are keeping things short so you can thoroughly enjoy your Sabbath rest.

Genesis 2:7 says, “Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”

You are not a robot, a machine, or a superhero.

You are a living, breathing human being who has the very breath of God in your nostrils.

The breath of the Almighty Job 33:4

How often do we take our breath for granted? How often do we take shallow breaths instead of breathing deeply of His love all around and within?

Kris Camealy said this last month and it resonated with me, “Sometimes I forget to take a breath. It hits me all of the sudden that I haven’t taken a deep breath for hours, that my shoulders are tucked up beneath my ears, as if they are supporting them, and I’m breathing but in short, rapid, shallow, hurried breaths. S L O W  D O W N, I say to myself. Breathe.”

Let’s breathe well this Sunday.

Let’s slow and savor so that we can see.

Let’s release the tension from our shoulders.

Just breathe.

1.  Read Genesis 2 today and imagine what it was like when God gave life to Adam.

2. Take a moment and thank God for the gift of life that He has given you.

3. Breathe deep today and give God thanks for the opportunity to slow down.
