Five Minute Friday: Messenger

Five Minute Friday

What message will you write for this week’s Five Minute Friday prompt? MESSENGER. Join in the fun over at Lisa Jo’s as we throw up a 5 minute response and then read each others’ posts and share our thoughts.

They used to send messengers on foot, to tell great, alarming, important news.
The servant was entrusted with a message from the master- to deliver to a named recipient.

As Father’s Day approaches, and hubby sits here working on his Sunday morning message, he reminds me that God has given fathers the responsibility to tell their children of the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power and the wonders He has done (see Psalm 78:4). They are to be God’s messenger, telling of His miracles and faithfulness. But, not just telling, but showing too…that the messenger might clearly reveal the message, the news.

And what’s the most important news that a father can deliver to his children?

The good news.

The good news of a Father sending His Son, His message of love, forgiveness and hope to the sinful world…so that we can be reconciled to our Heavenly Father.

What message are we sending with our lives?

Let’s stay in the Good News and ask Him to help us live it out, so that our lives can deliver His great, alarming and important message to the world.

Happy Father’s day Dad, Dad-in-law and Hubby! You are three outstanding men of God. I am so thankful for you. Thank you for believing the Good News and living a life that points to the Father.

With Love,
Katie

Yes, Katie! There is no greater message for a father to pass on than the Good News. So glad to have had a father that shared that same message and so happy your husband is doing the same. xoxo, Meredith
