The gift of spring and other things

With the summer-like temperatures and bright sunny weather, I feel like I am in Arizona in March, instead of Michigan!  I am NOT complaining, it is just beautifully strange.  Buds on branches, flowers in bloom, robins returning, kids already in sandbox…

This Gift

The colors on the horizon change
The path ahead makes a surprising bend
We turn and we laugh about what You’ve asked,
“Will you receive this gift?”

A gift of grace
A gift that takes faith
A gift that’s value grows with time
A gift that can mend
And gives life to the end
Will we receive this gift?

The journey ahead won’t be easy
There’ll be joys and struggles mingled through
We turn and we smile, ‘cuz You’ve prepared us all the while
For us to receive this gift

A gift of grace
A gift that takes faith
A gift that’s value grows with time
A gift that can mend
And gives life to the end-
“Here, please, receive this gift.”

You gave Your son to die for us
To remove our sin, restoring us to You
We turn our lives now, to You we humbly bow
As we receive this gift

This gift of grace
This gift that takes faith
This gift that’s value grows with time
This gift that can mend
And gives life to the end
Yes, we’ll receive this gift
Father, yes, we’ll receive Your gift.

Thank You God for the gift of today; help us to bring beauty to it… thank You for the love, grace, and strength You give as we live… help us to live for You, faithful-
through storm and calm,
through winter and spring,
through the known and unknown,
through gain and loss,
through it all- may we be found faithful;
Thank You Jesus for Your gift, total and complete; perfect.

Psalm 73:28
“But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all Thy works.”

Hi, I'm Katie (a Modern Martha, wife, and mom to five). I'm so glad you're here! Let's enjoy some cut-to-the-chase conversation over hot or iced tea, as we find grace in the unraveling of life (together). Let's exchange try-hard striving for hope-filled freedom as we settle into our position as a doer and a daughter—created by a Loving Father.
