Five Minute Friday: Glue

Join us on this Good Friday as we write together about…glue? Yes, glue. And isn’t He, our Savior, the glue that holds us together?  Head on over to Lisa-Jo’s for the linkup and lots of encouragement. We need your voice. We want to hear your heart. Just 5 minutes greatly impacts those gathered here. #fmfparty

It adheres.
It is here.
This glue that sticks.
This superglue,
it holds complete.
It holds us together.
It held Him on the cross.
This love.

Does it stick with you?
He does.
He doesn’t give up or let go,
In love.
All love.
For you.

This love it gives hope.
Hope for the hard days.
Hope that rises like dawn after dark.

Jesus holds us.
He holds us close to Himself.
Those nail-scarred hands embrace you.
That spilled blood covers you.
The glue of His love seals up the weak spots, the cracks, the broken places.

When you come apart, He comes in.
When you crack, He seals you.

Oh, Lord,
“set me as a seal upon your heart“
Affix me to You.

For love You let them drive nails in,
For love You poured out all within.
This love that is stronger than death.

You took sin upon You and let it stick to Your clean, so we could be free
In You we are made whole.

Thank You Jesus, for adhering to the Father’s will,
Showing us real life, full and fulfilling,
And making a way to bring us back Home
To You.

Thank you for your words. I love how you remind us ‘He doesn’t let go’. Even on Good Friday He didn’t let go.

Beautiful words. Until Lisa-Jo’s post I had never thought of glue as the essence of God sealing us. But it is true. Come on over and see my take on glue

Katie, these are more than beautiful words tonight. This spoke to me, “For love You let them drive nails in,
For love You poured out all within.” He did let them, didn’t He? That’s what I was just talking to my son about at bedtime. He gave in and they gave up. He poured out all He had. Yes. I love your prose and your soul. Blessings this sacred week…Meredith

Your image caught my eye. Love holding hands with littles! Painted nails are precious too. May we always hold hands with our Father too! Glue is grace.

Katie, I just love the imagery. I love the idea of Jesus adhering to God’s will. I often think of how much easier my life feels when I am consciously in His will and how silly it is when I let myself fall away. Oh to be glued to His will in such a way that I cannot pull myself away when it gets uncomfortable.

Gorgeous words and imagery. I love this. Popped over from FMF and I’m glad I did!
